Welcome to BioGeoSDI

This site is to support activities of the TDWG geospatial application interoperability testbed / subgroup / playpen. The site is based on Trac which is a minimalistic approach to web-based management of software projects. Its goal is to simplify effective tracking and handling of software issues, enhancements and overall progress.

The subversion repository is accessible at https://biogeosdi.ecoforge.net/svn and is also browseable from the "Browse Source" link at the top of the page.

It is recommended that the TDWG wiki is used for most documentation related to this group. I suggest using the wiki pages on this site primarily for technical / developer notes related to software being developed / tested here.

A ticket system is also available on this site which can be very helpful in keeping track of issues such as bugs and feature requests. See the "View Tickets" and "New Ticket" links at the top of the page.

Authentication and Authorization

This site authenticates against the TDWG user directory, so you should be able to log in using the same credentials as you use when logging in to any of the TDWG sites. Authorization is a separate issue and logging in does not guarantee that you have the necessary privileges to do much. An effort has been made to add all those listed in the "Interested people" table on the TDWG Wiki pages to the "developer_group" of this trac site. Members of this group have privileges to edit wiki pages, commit to the subversion repository and a few other tasks. If you find that you are unable to edit wiki pages or commit to subversion, then please contact me (vieglais at ku dot edu) and I'll check that you are in the developer_group.
